Two nights and three day in-depth discovery of the hidden vineyards of Paris

Description du service

Discover the hidden vineyards of Paris with this immersive three-day wine tour, exploring the city’s forgotten vineyards and rich viticultural heritage. Few visitors realise that, until the 19th century, Paris was the largest wine-producing region in the world. This carefully curated experience reveals how wine shaped the city’s culture, neighbourhoods, and way of life. Day 1 – Arrival & Welcome Dinner Arrive in Paris and settle into a centrally located hotel in the heart of the Latin Quarter. In the evening, meet fellow travellers for a welcome glass of sparkling wine, followed by a convivial three-course dinner at a nearby restaurant. It’s the perfect introduction to the journey ahead. Day 2 – Montmartre & Latin Quarter Wine Bars After breakfast, enjoy a guided wine walk through Montmartre, one of Paris’s most atmospheric quarters. Wander its winding streets, leafy squares, and historic sites while learning about its vineyards, abbey, windmills, and legendary artists. A highlight is the world renowned Clos Montmartre, the city’s most iconic vineyard, viewed from the terrace of the Musée de Montmartre. The morning concludes with a blind tasting of organic and biodynamic wines—one white and two reds—paired with artisanal cheeses and rustic bread, served during a relaxed three-course bistro lunch at a classic Montmartre natural wine bar. The afternoon is free to explore Paris at your own pace. In the early evening, regroup for a guided wine bar crawl in the Latin Quarter. Visit four carefully selected venues, sampling shared plates and blind-tasting a different wine at each stop. This lively progression offers a fun and social way to experience Paris’s vibrant natural wine scene. Day 3 – Saint-Germain-des-Prés & Departure Following breakfast, we metro to Saint-Germain-des-Prés for a guided walk through one of Paris’s oldest neighbourhoods. Once surrounded by vineyards owned by the powerful medieval abbey, this area played a central role in the city’s wine trade. Discover Paris’s smallest vineyard, visit the historic church, and trace the footsteps of writers, artists, and philosophers. The tour concludes with a guided wine tasting at the Marché Saint-Germain, followed by a leisurely three-course lunch at a traditional brasserie in the Odéon district, before returning to the hotel for a late-afternoon departure. Travel to and from Paris and wines with meals (other than Montmartre) are not included. Extensions available on request.
